Project Brief
The name Isala is derived from the Portuguese word isla, which means island. Isala Spa, which is part of the City of Dreams, offers a glimpse into the Old World with a gentle touch of modern luxury through three unique phases: Dream, concentrates on relaxation, Dynasty is all about indulgence, and Harmony, where the goal is revitalization. The native culture and traditional Macanese and Chinese healing traditions and indigenous ingredients inspire its philosophy. The Isala Spa menu creates a dynamic offering for its clientele – international treatments and products paired with local healing wisdom – just like the city of Macau.
The 25,000 sq. ft. Isala Spa features 15 treatment suites with private showers, a full service state-of the-art fitness centre, tai chi, yoga and meditation classes, and a stunning 40-meter outdoor pool.
Project Mandate
During her tenure as International Spa Director for Hyatt, Serena arrived on-site 6 months prior to the forecasted launch, developed full financial forecasts and marketing plans, the spa brand, coordinated operations, and successfully launched Isala Spa as a new identity on the Macau Spa scene in 2010.
